A website of this scope deals with tons of very, very disorganized data. We had to create a system that took in all this info and organized and analyzed it to give you very specific, comprehensive results. This was the biggest challenge of all, and we tackled it pretty well.
MumbaiVotes tracks 2521 politicians - there's articles and videos for each, plus detailed records of their assets, attendance, etc. Derived from all of this is the MV Analysis, which gives you an overview of your candidates and measures their performance against their promises. Despite the complex information architecture at work here, mumbaivotes.com is easy to navigate and intuitive - we want all of Mumbai to be able to use this site, and use it right.

The interactive map module is an intuitive way to help citizens find their candidates/elected representatives.
Short of time? No problem. The comparison module pulls in data from all candidate report cards and gives you a quick idea of how they measure up against each other.
The website tracks every article that has mentioned your candidate in the past 3-5years. That's a lot of data, and our powerful filters make it easy for you to sift through it.
All videos on MumbaiVotes are hosted from the website itself, so you'll never have trouble viewing content because an external host has banned it.
Come election time, MumbaiVotes has a team of at least 40 volunteers who are constantly adding and updating data. We've given them an indepth, custom CMS that allows them to access/update data, upload new content, and view stats.
For MumbaiVotes, pageviews increase dramatically when elections are around the corner. We've worked really hard to make sure that the site can scale and withold traffic during such times. This is really important to us: MumbaiVotes helps at least 50,000 voters make an informed decision every election, and we are happy to contribute to that cause.
